What a DAY!!!
First of all, let me say SORRY! I have been a terribly neglectful blogger. If I got a grade for my blogging, it would likely be a BAD one. Good intentions were abundant when this blog began. But good intentions can deceive us. Can’t they?
That said, let’s get on with this blog post. Today’s theme is WHAT A DAY. And boy what a day it has been!
Valentine’s Day has never been high on my list of favorite days to begin with. I find the whole mess of it a little silly. Showing our love for one another isn’t something that can be done in one day. Love is a VERB. It is shown to those that we love in our day to day actions. No rose or stuffed bear can do that for us. Now don’t get me wrong. A hopeless romantic I am. But, as I said before, love is something that we must DO…..daily.
On top of the whole Valentine’s day hoop-la going on today there was work. Ahhhhhh….WORK. Today’s day at work registered number ONE on my list of bad days at work. And that is saying a LOT, seeing as I have been working since I was 12 years old. It was bad. I mean monumentally BAD. The worst part….it was MY fault that my day was bad. It sucks so much worse when you can’t blame the “bad” on someone else.
After work, my day begins. That is when all of the kiddos come home and it gets really wild. There’s homework, supper, housework, baths, homework, homework, homework. Now factor in a bike wreck of mammoth proportions (bless Ava’s little scraped knee), my husband not getting home until 8:30 and fussing relentlessly with my stubborn-as-a-bull daughter. Whew. Can you say “Calgon take me away”?
Then, like a knight in shining armor, my hubby runs me a steaming hot bath, lights the bathroom full of candles and leads me to the tub with a trail of Disney Princess Valentine’s Day cards with sweet little notes on each of them. EUREKA!!!!!
Now I am clean, relaxed and back to blogging.
Happy Valentine’s Day, Peeps!
